From her book, “Journey to Q’eros: Golden Cradle of the Inka." Elizabeth Jenkins describes the Hatun Karpay, the Great Initiation ritual of the Inkas:

“This ancient ritual was designed to bring the
individual into direct, intimate and mystical
relationship to the Divine through Great Nature
herself. This encounter triggers a kind melt-down of
the “personality” into it’s primordial origins, and if
all goes well, a recovery of one’s “original self” and
knowledge of one’s role as a player in the great
creation. After this disintegration and (hopeful)
reconsitution of the personality, it is up to the
initiate to make their way back into society and forge a position of spiritual authority in their local
community.”

Hatun Karpay Initiation
"Great Initiation"

July 3rd – 15th, 2008

An expedition to Peru with Mystic and Andean Priest
Juan Nunez del Prado,
Valerie Niestrath &
Stephen Victor

We invite you to join us for the two-week Hatun Karpay "Great Initiation" into the Andean Tradition. Journey to the Sacred Places of the Ancient Inkas with one of Peru's foremost contemporary spiritual teachers, Juan Nunez del Prado, Andean Mystic and anthropologist.

In the Great Initiation, Juan guides us through a series of rituals and ceremonies in Cuzco (considered the navel of the earth), the Sacred Valley of the Inkas, Machu Picchu and other sacred sites. Based on the instructions he received from his Indian masters, Juan teaches the elements of the Andean Tradition through powerful exercises and rituals in some of Peru's most sacred and ancient sites.

The Q'ero Indians, who are the descendants of the Inka and the prophets and visionaries of the Andes, will accompany us for several teachings, ceremonies and rituals regarding Andean Mysticism. The Q'ero are considered the "Keepers of the the Ancient Wisdom"

We will be in Cuzco during the beginning of the Virgin de Carmen Festival of the Divine Feminine. Optional side trips to Lake Titicaca and Mamacha Carmen Festival can be arranged.
