Journey to Holy Mountain Ausangate
Fall 2008

Ausangate is the highest mountain visible from the whole Cusco Valley and the highest Apu – mountain spirit – and Lord of the Cusco Area for all Q'ero-people and Andean indians who descend from the Inka's.

This trip to and on Holy ground is mainly on horseback and camping primitively. Meals, luggage and camping gear is taken care of. You carry only a small bottle of water, yourself personal affects – luggage goes on other horses. Tents are set when you arrive on the camping spot.

On all locations we will make despachos, collective saywas and exchange energies with nature elelements and sanctuaries as appropriate in the Andean tradition of Juan en Ivans teachers.

The Elder (Master) of the Ausangate area has been Don Mariano Turpo for a long time. He was initiated by his father and mother. Now his son too is initiated by his father's lineage and his grandmother and mother's lineage.
His name is Don Nazario Turpo, and he now is the Keeper of Ausangate. He is the Elder who accompanies this trip, makes the despacho ceremonies for the group and shares his knowledge with all of you.
